Description

This project-based 8th-grade math course will align with the Common Core Standards and focus on developing students’ problem-solving skills and preparing them for algebraic thinking. Through hands-on, project-based learning experiences, students will deepen their understanding of rational and irrational numbers, linear functions, and geometry. They will learn to apply math concepts to real-world problems, using critical thinking and communication skills to work collaboratively with their peers. Projects will be designed to promote creativity and encourage students to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, such as designing a bridge or creating a budget for a small business. Through this course, students will become confident and proficient in their math skills, setting them up for future success in algebra and beyond.
