Description

This project-based high school social studies course aims to explore modern American history while aligning with California social studies standards. Through various project-based activities, students will delve into key events, figures, and themes that shaped American society and politics from the late nineteenth century to the present day, including the Progressive Era, World War I and II, the Civil Rights Movement, the Cold War, and contemporary issues such as globalization and the impact of technology. Students will analyze the political, economic, and social systems of the United States and their impact on American society and the world. Students will use critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills to research, present, and reflect on their learning. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper understanding of the complex issues that have shaped modern American society and their impact on contemporary issues.
