Description

This course combines hands-on projects with traditional reading and writing exercises to foster a love of learning and literacy while meeting Common Core Standards. Students will analyze and comprehend various texts and engage in projects to create digital stories or multimedia presentations. They will also develop their writing skills by practicing grammar, punctuation, and spelling and working on collaborative projects such as writing a newsletter or a letter. Collaboration is critical in developing speaking and listening skills through presentations, debates, and discussions. The course aims to develop foundational skills as well as critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills for future success.
