I have always loved school and learning. I wasn’t necessarily the “high achieving” student, but I was always eager to learn new things. My only experience from Kindergarten through 12th grade was in traditional public school. However, along the way, I had some incredible and passionate teachers. They didn’t just teach but brought learning to life. That has always been my dream and purpose as an educator.

I attended Chico State University and majored in Liberal Studies, with the intention of becoming a K-8th educator. It was in college that I was first introduced to inquiry-based learning, and a fire was ignited in me. I can still remember the science course where we investigated how light travels and enters the eye. No answers were given to us. Instead, we discovered everything through investigation and hands-on research. I knew I wanted to work in a school that had that same vision for education. That is what brought me to WorldOver. I am passionate about project-based learning and know that most learning occurs through inquiry.

My first experience with online learning did not happen until 2020. I spent a whole year teaching online and realized learning could happen in so many ways outside of a traditional classroom. Over the last year and a half, I have become an advocate for homeschooling and online education. I see that this is the best way to learn for so many kids and families.

In my free time, I love to spend my time outdoors. I hike regularly and feel my best when I can get outside. I also love to read, so I am always excited to see a young reader begin to love the world of books.
