Course Description

Part 1
Learners will create and utilize mathematical functions that occur in daily life. Topics include using functions to calculate the speed, acceleration, and gasoline mileage of racing cars. Learners will experiment with functions by constructing computer code that performs set operations such as controlling a virtual automobile and setting a vehicle on cruise control.

Part 2
Learners will learn how probability works and how to figure out the odds of something happening in real-life or theoretical science. They will learn the logic behind mathematical formulas such as the Pythagorean Theorem and operational properties. Finally, they will solve real-world problems using the Pythagorean Theorem.
