Course Description

Part 1
Learners will have fun drawing geometric designs using a ruler, compass, square, and protractor. In doing so, learners will identify lines, rays, and angles. They will experiment with rotational geometry by rotating objects over the x- or y-axis, shifting objects by a given degree measure, and identifying 3-dimensional figures and their rotations.

Part 2
This course combines art and design with math. Learners will discover how geometric shapes and patterns can be found in art and nature. Learners will design and construct vibrant geometric designs using tools (ruler, protractor, square, and compass). They will review concepts from Part 1, Math 4 as they write instructions or a story that goes along with a project of their choice.
